1. Your buddies may very well be wrong. Do you know where they got this information from? Most slot games have multiple payback settings, so a profitable point to start playing in one casino may not be profitable in another.
2. Down $500 is nothing. You have not played anywhere near long enough for your results to be remotely meaningful. It's all random noise at this point.
